Chapter 11 Review

Three things that I learned from reading this chapter are that the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics is a primary resource and guide for all who make decisions that affect the mathematics education of students. I also learned about the ten mathematics standards, they include: numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, data analysis and probability, problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections, representations. The final thing that I learned from reading this chapter is about the different ways to represent mathematical principles.

Two ways that I can integrate the things that I learned from the chapter in my own teaching is by using the specific guidelines for the things that students need to learn. I can also use the different examples of integrating technology into math.

One question that I have after reading this chapter is how can learning about different subject matters help me with teaching math?
